Fog & Grain is the wedding and event studio of Andrew Cigna, a Boston-based photographer and filmmaker. The name comes from two things he loves. Fog is for summers on the water, between the Cape and Madaket Beach, when mornings started soft and gray before the sun burned through. Grain is for the texture of real film, a warmth only Super 8 and analog stock can give.
His background is in music videos and documentary film, so he covers a wedding more like a journalist than a traditional wedding photographer. He works fly-on-the-wall and catches the glance across the room, the laugh in the middle of the toasts, the quiet seconds before the aisle. There’s very little staged posing, just the day as it happened. He shoots digital with a soft spot for film, Super 8, Hi-8 and VHS, so every gallery feels lived-in and real.
